I recently downloaded GIMPPortable from http://www.portableapps.com and I have to say that it's quite amazing.
GIMP has always been a good free alternative to PhotoShop, but since it's main target was the Linux community, it didn't take off that well among PS users. It can pretty much do everything that PS can do and has some cool extra features.
What's nice about the portable one is that I have it on my USD HDD which I take with me when I go on a photoshoot and if I need to use someone else's PC, I'll still be able to edit my photos

I often travel with work, and most of the times I carry a portable USB HDD (in my case I have a 100GB laptop SATAII HDD, in a Vantec E-SATA / USB enclosure), or a large USB Memory Stick. The USB HDD enclosure basically dock’s into a “docking station” in the PC, which then connects it to the high speed SATA II bus and I can use it as any other Hard Drive in my PC.
When I’m on the move, it works with USB ( I didn’t want to carry an external power supply) and is small and lightweight.
The biggest problem I faced was that a lot of data on the portable HDD was private, and I didn’t want other people to get their hands on it.

I have been looking at using the Google Developer tools to improve my search engine ranking, for quite some time now. The problem was always just to get the time todo it.
My first step will be to make use of the sitemap.xml options, which basically gives google a way to see every page on your website much easier. For this experiment I'll be using 3 different websites, and 2 different website technologies.
The first one (http://www.cherrypix.co.za) runs on Joomla. This is a fresh installation, no a brand new domain, so there's no content, and no rankings yet.
The 2nd website (http://www.perfectpictures) runs on vBulletin + Drupal, and has been running for about 8 months now.
The 3rd website (http://blog.softdux.com) runs Wordpress, and has been running for about a year or so. I have already setup a sitemap.xml on this domain, a week ago.

I finally got the blog sorted out, and it's now live on the website. Feel free to post some blog entries. I'm still fine-tuning it, but if you have any requests, questioned & suggestions, then please let me know.
