I recently downloaded GIMPPortable from http://www.portableapps.com and I have to say that it's quite amazing.
GIMP has always been a good free alternative to PhotoShop, but since it's main target was the Linux community, it didn't take off that well among PS users. It can pretty much do everything that PS can do and has some cool extra features.
What's nice about the portable one is that I have it on my USD HDD which I take with me when I go on a photoshoot and if I need to use someone else's PC, I'll still be able to edit my photos

This thread: http://portableapps.com/node/4819 might shed some light, and I'll give it a try and report back on my findings
But Since I own Photoshop CS3 now I don't think I will go back
What exactly is GimShop, and what does it do? Does it have anything todo with e-commerce?
GIMPShop is GIMP, but with the menus and options like Photoshop.

It's all graphics editing. No shopping
How well does it handle RAW, louis?
I know there was a plugin for Canon RAW formats that I saw a while back, but that's about what I can remember. (sorry)
