What is better reseller or VPS hosting (need windows solution)

While I was looking through aspnix.com website I have found out that the price for their reseller and VPS hosting plans is the same.

I wonder what is the difference between Reseller and VPS hosting plans?

You will get more privileges by using VPS hosting solution. Besides, aspnix.com has nice reputation for providing uninterrupted windows web hosting services which are based on quality because it has the team of professionals who know how to keep their services on top.

Normally with VPS, you are responsable for updates (security), fixes etc.
Reseller the server is maintained for you, but you have less choice of what things are run etc.

VPS packages also allow you more freedom though, and it will handle more power websites as well. Oftentimes a shared host won't allow you to host a very bust forum / blog / e-commerce sites on the shared server as it may affect the performance of the other websites on that same server.

The same rule applies to reseller accounts. Often times, there would be many reseller accounts per server, so your very active website could affect the other resellers and their clients as well. With a VPS, you have your own dedicated portion of the server, with your own RAM / CPU / Network / Hard Drive / IP's (very important for blacklisting, DDOS, etc) and normally your own root account as well. In theory, you can do with the VPS whatever you like, as long as it's within the TOS of the hosting company. For example, someone might run an IRC server, someone else will use it for DEV work, someone will will use it as a file sharing service, etc. With reseller accounts you normally can't do these things, since the reseller account comes pre-installed with the host's choice of software - i.e. Operating System, Control Panel, Script Installers, etc.
